Join us for a once-off event, a single day workshop, a full weekend retreat or a longer programme for a particular need. Naturally Grounded creates bespoke programmes around your goals, needs and interests which may include one or a combination of our products.  You’re welcome to form your own group of 6 or more people, or join other participants who may be registered for one of our events. Forest Bathing Walks are for groups, while our other services are for both groups and individuals.

Forest Bathing Walks

"The art of forest bathing is the art of connecting with nature through our senses. All we have to do is accept the invitation. Mother Nature does the rest” - Dr Qing Li.

In this beautiful practice your guide leads a walk of approximately 2 hours and introduces you to different ways of connecting to nature deeply using your senses. Backed by research, Forest Bathing has many physiological as well as psychological and spiritual benefits.  Some of these include regulating blood pressure, reducing the body’s physiological stress response, improving immunity, improving attention and focus, and improving mood and personal sense of wellbeing. The distance of the walk can be tailored to the needs of the participants.

Nature-Based Wellbeing Plans

Experience a deeper connection with nature, wherever you are, in your life as it is right now! Grounded in nature, we collaborate with you to design your own semi- structured wellbeing plan that is meaningful and realistic so that you can sense, connect and thrive!

If you have a medical diagnosis and would like to incorporate nature into your recovery or treatment plan, we will work with you to structure a very unique plan to help you to reach your goals. Importantly, the work offered by Naturally Grounded does not replace appropriate medical care if needed. We are very willing to work in collaboration with any of your medical team should you wish us to do so.

"..there is growing evidence that supports the age old belief that connection with nature promotes flourishing and positive mental health" - Colin Capaldi, International Journal of Wellbeing.

Sensory Assessment and Living Sensationally

Identifying, understanding and maximising your unique sensory ‘wiring’ is life changing and radically impacts your wellbeing, your work, your relationships, your focus and your energy. You will have more compassion for yourself and for those around you.

Both consciously and unconsciously our brains are constantly receiving messages from our environment, wherever we are and whatever we are doing. Seven of our physical senses- touch, taste, smell, vision, hearing and movement (including both proprioception as well as vestibular sense) first pass this information through our primitive brain, then the midbrain then our cerebral cortex. In other words first we sense, then we feel and then we think. The effect our senses have on our brains can be either energising or depleting, stimulating or irritating, focusing or distracting, calming or overwhelming.

We offer the opportunity to:

  • Identify your unique sensory profile

  • Learn simple strategies to work wIth your sensory style

  • Be a happier, healthier, more creative and productive you!

  • Live sensationally!

Guided Imagery and Music (Bonny Method)

“Where words fail, music speaks” - Hans Christian Andersen

This is a powerful, music centred sound-image “journey” that facilitates a deeper awareness and consciousness towards personal growth, healing and transformation.

Music is carefully selected based on the intention of your session and acts as a “co-therapist”, opening the space for imagery to spontaneously emerge while listening. Your therapist guides the imagery to deepen the experience, though does not interpret it.  Following the music-imagery “journey” the experience is usually integrated or processed using an expressive art or creative activity and discussion. One of the key premises of this method is that it accesses and activates our own inner wisdom, insight and capacity for healing and growth.

Breathwork

“Our habits of thinking, feeling and behaviour are reflected in our habits of breathing that develop over time” - Dr Ela Manga.

How we breathe has a profound effect on both our physical and mental health. In fact, how we breath affects every cellular function in our body and brain! Yet so many of us have dysregulated breathing patterns. Breathing well is probably the most democratic, most accessible, free “nutrient” we have that can radically change our wellbeing on a physical, biochemical and emotional level.

We can also use the breath to energise, to calm or relax, to improve our sleep, to improve concentration and focus, to reduce our stress response and in our journey of transformation.

At Naturally Grounded we teach you ways of breathing for different needs and different times.

Relaxation Techniques

Our bodies are very well designed and evolved to cope with sudden stress. However, when stress becomes longer term, our bodies remain in the active stress response state. These physiological changes are the cause of many of today’s stress related disease of our bodies, minds and souls.

Learning simple relaxation techniques helps us move from a constant stress state to a calmer state, which affects our physiological state as well as our emotional state and our focus. Relaxation techniques will be most effective in combination with other wellbeing strategies such as your nature-based wellbeing plan.
