WELLBEING FOR WORK WELLBEING FOR LIFE

We live in a demanding, fast paced society in a more and more uncertain world. At Naturally Grounded, we believe our services would greatly benefit those in the corporate space who have little opportunity to reconnect to themselves and the natural world around them.

“The future will belong to the nature-smart — those individuals, families, businesses and political leaders who develop a deeper understanding of the transformative power of the natural world, and who balance the virtual with the real. The more high-tech we become, the more nature we need.”

— Richard Louv

SENSE
CONNECT
THRIVE

Your employees’ wellbeing effects your bottom line for better or for worse.

Are your teams struggling to work as a team? Are your employees happy, productive and innovative, or are they stressed, overwhelmed and unimaginative? Is absenteeism affecting your company’s productivity? Are you having difficulty motivating your employees to come back to working in the office? Has depression, anxiety and burnout increased in your workplace?

We are in the midst of a world-wide surge in mental health problems.  We need to create a new model of work-life integration where we can thrive, be healthy and be fulfilled in our work teams, our personal and family lives, while at the same time growing professionally and being our most innovative and productive.

Naturally Grounded offers sustainable, grounded and research-based stress management and wellbeing strategies and programmes that address this new way of life and inspire working people to sense, connect and thrive. Our programmes are customised according to your needs, time and budget. We offer both group and individual programmes, and recommend building your programme around the core strategies below.

Our signature Wellbeing for Work. Wellbeing for Life offering for business and corporate clients includes:

Sensory Profile Assessment

Neuroscience tells us that first we sense, then we feel, then we think. The way that each individual experiences and processes sensory information is unique and genetically programmed. Consciously and unconsciously our brains are constantly receiving messages from our seven physical senses (hearing, vision, touch, taste, smell, movement (proprioception and vestibular)). Directly related to our environment, the effects that these sensory messages have on our brains can be either energising or depleting, stimulating or irritating, focusing or distracting, calming or overwhelming. Your sensory style radically effects every area of your life- at work, at home, in your relationships and at play. Awareness of the genetically programmed sensory styles of team members leads to a more cohesive and innovative team, where each team member can play to their strengths.

Using the Sensory Matrix ®, each participant’s sensory profile and style is identified.  The team’s results are reviewed together, with further consultation available for those wishing more personalized, in-depth insight. Simple and very practical strategies are suggested to maximize individual wellbeing and productivity as well as that of the team as a whole. We also recommend sensory assessments of the work environment at home and at the office to maximise productivity, focus and participation, while reducing unnecessary stress, distraction and overwhelm.

Consultation is also available on work-place design from both a sensory and a biophilic (nature-based) perspective. To get to great thinking we need to attend to the senses first.

Nature-Based Wellbeing

It has long been established that being with and in nature improves our focus and attention, reduces our physiological and psychological stress responses, improves immunity, regulates blood pressure and has a positive effect on our mood as well as our spiritual wellbeing. The benefits of nature may be experienced outdoors as well as by bringing nature into our homes, offices and everyday lives.

Nature connection is one of Naturally Grounded’s core philosophies. We offer group Forest Bathing Walks followed by individualised Nature-Based Wellbeing programmes that enhance and perpetuate these benefits over the longer term while deepening our sense of being part of something beyond ourselves.

We also offer consultation on biophilic work-place design to bring more of nature into your office environment.

Breathwork

How we breathe has a profound effect on both our physical and mental health.

“That we breathe is a matter of life and death. How we breath is a matter of sickness and health” Author unknown

In fact, how we breath affects every cellular function in our body and brain! Fatigue, difficulty with concentration and attention, back and neck pain, stress and mood are all affected by how we breathe.

Most of us don’t breathe well most of the time (especially at our desks) and have some form of dysregulated breathing. This can be improved resulting in better performance at work, in sport/exercise and even in sleep. Best of all, breathing is free and available to everyone!

At Naturally Grounded we teach optimal breathing for optimal health.

Heart-rate Variability

Heart-rate variability is one of the scientific measures of stress in your body. Naturally Grounded offers highly sensitive assessment of heart rate variability as one way of measuring your response to the different stress management techniques you are taught in our programme.

Sometimes seeing is  believing. This helps identify the most effective methods for you, and helps keep you motivated to make them part of your every-day life. We are able to compare your results over time and make adjustments to your strategies if needed.

Practical and Realistic Goal Setting

Each participant will learn values driven, practical and realistic goal setting strategies, along with the plan of how to achieve them.

“If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan not the goal”

Recurrent honest review, re-evaluation and restablishment of goals is vital to promote sustainable and achievable wellbeing.

Support in the longer term with update programmes and sessions is available on request.
